Welcome to The Wellness Journal

In the rush of everyday life, it’s easy to forget to pause — to breathe, to soften, to take care of the body that carries us through our days.

The Wellness Journal is where we gently return to ourselves.

Here, I share my own reflections, personal wellness experiences, and mindful movement tips — practices that have helped me feel more grounded on and off the mat. All content comes from my perspective and journey, and is not meant to replace professional medical advice. Please always listen to your body, take what resonates, and seek guidance from qualified professionals when needed.

Whether you’re beginning your wellness journey or rediscovering it once more, I’m grateful you’re here.

Let’s grow softer, stronger, and more well — together. ✨

  • During a yoga or sound bath session, you might notice a gentle hum filling the room — a soothing, lingering tone that seems to settle not just around you, but within you. That sound often comes from a Tibetan singing bowl.

These bowls are traditionally made from a blend of metals, shaped into an instrument that produces beautiful vibrations when the rim is tapped or rubbed with a mallet. While their exact origins may vary across Himalayan cultures, today they are widely embraced in modern wellness spaces for the sense of calm they help create.

✨ Why people love singing bowls

Although more research is still emerging, the experience of many practitioners (including myself!) is that these sounds can:

    • Encourage the mind to slow down and become present
    • Help soften stress held in the body
    • Support a shift from tension to ease
    • Create a comforting space to rest and reset

The sound isn’t just noise — it’s vibration. Those gentle waves can be felt in the body as much as they are heard by the ear, which is why people often describe feeling “lighter”, “clearer”, or simply more at peace after a session.

🧘‍♀️ How I use them in class

In my yoga and sound bath experiences, the bowls are an invitation to arrive — to leave the busy outside world behind and settle into the moment.
At the end of practice, the tones help guide the body into deeper relaxation, allowing the nervous system time to recover and restore.

You don’t need to know anything about sound therapy to enjoy singing bowls. Just lie back, breathe, and allow the sound to do its gentle work.

    🌿 A small reminder

Every wellness experience is unique. Some people feel a shift immediately, while others simply appreciate the peaceful ambience — both are perfectly okay. What matters is noticing what your body needs and honouring that.

  • One of the most common things I hear is: “I want to try yoga… but I’m not flexible.”

If you’ve thought the same, I want to gently share this with you:

You don’t start yoga because you’re flexible. You become more flexible because you start yoga.

Yoga isn’t a performance — it’s a practice. And flexibility is just one tiny piece of the experience. Yoga is also about learning how to breathe fully, listening to your body, noticing your thoughts, and finding ease in movement.

Here are a few simple ways to begin your yoga journey, exactly as you are:

🧘‍♀️ 1. Focus on how it feels, not how it looks

Yoga isn’t about touching your toes — it’s about connecting with your body. You’re allowed to bend your knees. You’re allowed to take breaks. You’re allowed to modify every pose.

Progress isn’t measured by how deep the stretch looks from the outside — but by how deeply you can soften on the inside.

🌱 2. Start small and stay consistent

5 minutes of gentle movement each day will always take you further
than 60 minutes once a month.

Slow growth is still growth. In fact, it’s the most sustainable kind.

😊 3. Use props (and no, it’s not cheating!)

Blocks, straps, bolsters, cushions — they exist to support your body, not challenge your ego. Choosing comfort makes the practice more accessible and enjoyable.

💛 4. Come with curiosity, not expectations

Some days you’ll feel open and spacious. Some days you’ll feel tight and resistant. Both days deserve kindness.

The aim is not to “achieve” the perfect pose — it’s to notice your body more lovingly.

✨ 5. Your breath is your greatest tool

Flexibility begins in the nervous system. When we breathe slowly and deeply, the body feels safer to release tension.

And if you ever want guidance, I’ll be right here — ready to hold a gentle space for you to move, stretch, breathe, and grow at your own pace.
